14. If a man has stolen a child, he shall be put to death.

This is a good law because people that steal other people’s children, should not be able to live.

195.  If a son has struck his father, his hands shall be cut off. 

This is unfair because to everyone because someone that has a hand cut off wouldn't be able to do work as well and that would hurt the whole town.

196. If a man has knocked out the eye of a patrician, his eye shall be knocked out.

I was really surprised to hear this one because what if they were fighting and someone was just defending themselves. It isn't fair to make permanent decisions before finding out the truth.

Today our power point was about the first writings, laws, and languages. We worked on the the Hammurabi laws and how they were greatly followed many years ago. Some of the laws were crazy, and many involved death.
